Reviews and Ratings
I had a wonderful stay at this charming B&B, where I was greeted by a lovely host who provided a tour and warm snacks upon arrival. The beautiful views of Lake Manapouri and the traditional furnishings made it feel historic and welcoming. Breakfast was a delight with plenty of options, but I did find it unfortunate that some local tours were fully booked during my stay. Nonetheless, this place is ideal for anyone looking for comfort and character near the Doubtful Sound.
I had a very good experience at this charming guest house, with stunning views and a delightful breakfast included. The hosts were incredibly helpful in trying to arrange our Glowworm Tour, even though it was fully booked. The location was perfect for exploring the area, but I do think the house could use some updates here and there to enhance the overall experience.
I had a lovely stay at this charming old house. The views from the verandah were stunning, and the spacious room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a highlight, and the hosts, Robert and Phillipa, were incredibly helpful with local insights. However, the house could use a bit of maintenance, like some fresh paint and better water pressure in the shower. Overall, it was a great experience, especially for those looking to explore Doubtful Sound.
I had a wonderful stay at this charming old house, steeped in history and with lovely views of Lake Manapouri. The warm hospitality from Rob and Philippa made me feel truly welcomed. The rooms, while spacious, could benefit from some updates and attention to detail, but the atmosphere was cozy. Breakfast was a standout with freshly baked croissants and a variety of options. Overall, it's a great spot for exploring the region, though the house does need some maintenance work to enhance the experience.
I had a wonderful and peaceful stay here, with a fantastic view of Lake Manapouri and the surrounding mountains. The historical charm of the guest house adds to the experience, and I appreciated the warm hospitality of Rob and Philippa. While the location is perfect for exploring Doubtful Sound, some updates in the rooms would make the experience even better. Overall, I enjoyed my time here and would recommend it for its character and convenience.
